Photos & likeness

What kind of photo works best for a custom figurine?
A clear, front-facing photo taken in daylight, where the face is not covered by sunglasses, a hat brim or heavy shadow. Adding a three-quarter angle and a full-body shot removes almost all guesswork about the nose profile and proportions.
How many photos should I send?
Two to four per subject is ideal. More is fine — sculptors use whatever helps. For pets, include one taken at their eye level.
Can you work from an old or low-resolution photo?
Usually yes. Scanned prints, film photos and video screenshots have all produced excellent figurines. We will tell you honestly at the proof stage if a detail genuinely cannot be resolved.
Can you change something from the photo — outfit, hair colour, weight?
Yes. Add a note at the upload stage and the sculptor works to it. Hair colour, a different outfit, adding or removing glasses, and changing a hairstyle are all routine.

Product & materials

What are the figurines made of?
High-resolution printed resin, hand-sanded, hand-painted with water-based acrylics and sealed with a matte protective coat. They are display keepsakes rather than toys and are not suitable for children under three.
Do you make plush toys or fabric dolls?
No. CustomFigure makes hand-painted resin figurines only.
How big are they?
Most products are offered at 4, 6 and 8 inches (10, 15 and 20 cm). Keychains are 2 inches. Taller figures hold noticeably more detail in faces and fabric folds.
Is the cake topper safe to put on a cake?
Yes. Wedding cake toppers are finished with a food-safe matte sealer and can sit directly on the icing. We still recommend a small acrylic disc under the base for very soft frostings.

Timing & production

How long does a custom figurine take?
Production is 8–18 days depending on the product, plus 3–8 days express shipping from Shenzhen. Rush production is available on most items and shortens production to about a week.
When should I order for a wedding?
Six to eight weeks before the date. That covers production, the proof cycle, shipping and a sensible buffer.
What is the 3D proof?
A set of preview renders of the actual model that will be printed, sent within 3–4 working days. You approve it before anything is produced, and revisions at that stage are free and unlimited.

Payment, shipping & returns

What payment methods do you accept?
PayPal, plus Visa, Mastercard and American Express processed through PayPal. You do not need a PayPal account to pay by card. We never see or store your card details, and PayPal Buyer Protection covers your order.
Where do you ship from, and do you ship worldwide?
Everything is made and shipped from our studio in Shenzhen, China, to more than 40 countries by tracked express courier. Shipping is free on orders over $79; below that it is a flat $9.90. Typical transit is 3–5 days within Asia, 5–8 days to the US and Canada, and 5–9 days to the UK and EU.
Will I have to pay import duties or customs?
Parcels ship from China, so your country treats them as an import. Most orders clear without charges in the US (under the $800 de minimis) and Australia (under AUD 1,000), while the UK and EU apply VAT on almost all imported goods. Any duty or tax is set by your country and is the recipient’s responsibility — it is not included in our prices.
What if the figurine arrives damaged?
Send us a photo within 7 days of delivery and we remake and reship it at no cost. Transit damage is rare — everything ships double-boxed — but it is fully covered.
Can I get a refund?
If the finished figurine does not match the proof you approved, we remake it or refund you in full within 30 days of delivery. Because every piece is made to order, we cannot accept change-of-mind returns after the proof has been approved.
Can I cancel after ordering?
Yes, for a full refund any time before you approve the 3D proof. After approval, production has started and cancellation is no longer possible.
